Guided Practice Third Eye Chakra
Amethyst Protection Practice
A guided practice for a quiet mind, intuition, and restful calm, held by violet amethyst.
The guided meditation is on its way
You can begin the practice below today. The video will appear right here once it's ready.
Amethyst's name comes from the ancient Greek amethystos, and it has long been carried as a stone of clarity and calm. In crystal traditions it's associated with the third eye chakra and intuition. This practice uses your sachet to quiet mental noise and invite a protected, peaceful stillness, which makes it lovely before sleep.
Inside your sachet
Raw amethyst
A stone of calm and intuition, associated with the third eye chakra.
The practice
Step 1: Settle in
Find a quiet spot where you won't be interrupted for ten minutes. Sit comfortably with your feet on the floor, or lie down if that feels better today.
Step 2: Hold your sachet
Rest the sachet in your open palms, or place it gently over your forehead, just between your brows. Notice its weight, the texture of the cloth, and the scent of the herbs inside.
Step 3: Breathe
Close your eyes. Breathe in slowly for a count of four, hold for four, and exhale for six. Repeat this seven times, letting each exhale soften your shoulders and jaw.
Step 4: Visualize
Bring your attention to the space between your eyebrows. Picture a soft soft violet light gathering around the amethyst and spreading outward until it surrounds you completely.
Step 5: Speak your affirmation
Say your affirmation aloud three times, slowly: "My mind is calm, my intuition is clear, and I am protected as I rest." Let the words settle into your body before moving on.
Step 6: Close the practice
Take one more deep breath, open your eyes, and place your sachet where you'll see or carry it today. Return to this practice whenever you need to come back to yourself.
Your affirmation
“My mind is calm, my intuition is clear, and I am protected as I rest.”
Caring for your sachet
Keep your sachet somewhere it can quietly do its work: under your pillow, in a bag you carry every day, on your altar, or near your front door.
Every new moon, hold the sachet in both hands, breathe slowly, and restate your intention. If you'd like to refresh it, leave it in moonlight overnight or pass it gently through the smoke of sage or palo santo.
When the herbs lose their scent, return them to the earth with gratitude. Keep the stone; it's yours to carry into the next practice.
